Marblehead Youth Football is seeking a volunteer or teams of volunteers to manage concessions at Hopkins Field this fall. Last season, concession sales during the ten week season - including the CAYFL Super Bowl championship games - helped pay for referees and EMTs at every game, which in turn helped MYF keep player participation costs low.
The '14 game season begins the weekend of September 6-7, and then continues for seven additional weekends. Depending on playoffs and the Super Bowl, MYF may host games in week nine and ten. The Snack Shed Coordinator manages the opening and closing of the shed each Saturday or Sunday MYF teams host visiting teams, typically consisting of four consecutive games. The Coordinator helps organize the shed space, restocks the shelves, manages the funds, and provides oversight and guidance to parent volunteers who staff the shed. Scheduling of volunteers is handled by the Volunteers Coordinator.
MYF and its Board relies of the funds raised at Hopkins, but the shed also is an important community hub for families, players, visiting teams, and others. While the fans come out to support their team, the snack shed has always been a special part of the youth football experience for all. If you're interested in helping out by managing the Snack Shed's operation, either singularly or as part of a team, please contact Bryan Segee, to discuss in greater detail.
